I’ve been getting down on myself for keeping up with popular literature and not going back to some “classics.” Last night I had the overwhelming urge to read some Shakespeare. So I woke up, went to the gym, and then immediately found my copy of Shakespeare’s Complete Plays and paged to one I’d never read before.
Currently Drinking: Dunkin’ Donuts S’mores Iced Coffee (so good!)

Okay, I admit it! I’m obsessed. Cozy mysteries have been my fall back for audio listening these days. I feel like I have been consuming books like crazy the past few weeks. Functioning without an audio – yes, even while I’m at the gm – seems crazy to me now. Cozy mysteries are the perfect download, play, go about your life audiobooks.

This morning was a “lazy” morning, which are honestly my favorite. The kind of day when you wake up too early but you can just take your time getting ready. I spent the morning lazily getting ready and listening to Homegoing. Nevermind the fact that I was supposed to have it finished yesterday for my Friend Book Club.
Today’s Drink: Caramel Macchiato
Today’s Read: Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
Busy morning when I decide not to get up until I absolutely had to. Which meant I didn’t do as much as I’d hoped. (sad trombone) BUT! I did make time to sit and read because my hold just came in on a book I have been dying to read.
Today’s Drink: Grande Cafe Mocha from Starbucks
Today’s Read: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
Oh boy. The Monday after a holiday weekend is even more brutal now that I’m the one hosting relatives instead of the one visiting. Staying up late (I haven’t known the world past 11 p.m. in recent months) and waking up early to make sure everyone has someone to talk to in the morning and knows how to start the coffee maker means no time to sleep. Luckily my family is worth it.
Today’s Drink: Hot Mocha (much needed)
Today’s Read: Death by the Dozen by Jenn McKinlay
Monday is my evening shift at the library. That means bright and early Monday morning is for errand running, a less crowded gym, and a peaceful hour or so spent at the breakfast table with a book and something good to drink. Oh, and a little blogging, too!
Today’s drink: Homemade Iced Salted Caramel Latte
Today’s read: Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Here are my thoughts so far.
