Speaking of princesses…
I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it on this platform before (though maybe it becomes obvious if you’ve read my TBRs or some other posts) but I’m a huge comics nerd/fan.
It wasn’t something I loved growing up. Reading comics for grad school really inspired something in me and I fell in love with them.
I would love to occasionally talk about the ones I love a lot on this blog. Hopefully, you can indulge me and maybe even learn to love it. 🙂
HAPPY STAR WARS DAY! MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU!
I had such high hopes that I would be able to read this book and recommend it to you…but there isn’t always enough time in the day…or the week…or the month.
So – I’m recommending this one to you without reading it. It’s about Princess Leia and written by Mark Waid who, among other things, is responsible for the great new Archie reboot.
The story is based the Star Wars canon and helps us to get an even rounder look of Leia. After Return of the Jedi, Leia is left with a bounty on her head, parentless, and with a Galactic Empire to take done. The graphic novel is laced with flashbacks of Leia’s life, as well.
Needless to say, I’m really excited to find the time to sit down and read this one.
For way better and more in depth reviews, I always encourage people to read the Goodreads reviews section.
Go do something geeky today and this weekend!
I run a fiction book club at my library. This month’s book was Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. While I was pulling books last night for the book club ladies to read it occurred to me that this would make a good blog post!
We chose the book club book for this month before we knew the HBO show was coming out around the same time. The book club loved connecting to two and talking about what they liked and disliked about each.
