Over a Cup: The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood

Over a cup (1)

How in the world have I gone this long without reading this book?

Today’s Drink: French Vanilla Iced Coffee from Dunkin

Today’s Read: The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood

This book is all the rage currently because of the Hulu show. The show served to remind me that I have meant to read this book for the last 5 years and haven’t gotten around to it. Great news: Audible offers this book from with an Amazon Prime membership! Waiting for this book or audiobook from the library would have taken ages and I’m sure that’s why I hadn’t read it before.

Like the other Atwood I’ve read, it’s so completely detailed and she loves to mess with temporality. This book is really tight and really interesting. Such a different take on a dystopian novel (I think she’s one of the predecessors of the genre). The whole thing is triggering my feminist self. Can’t wait to see how it ends! I don’t know how I’ve avoided spoilers for this book for so long. I’m racing the clock to avoid show spoilers on Twitter. 🙂
